Meet Ms. Hillary

Hello everyone and welcome to my Counselors Corner! I’m ecstatic to be starting this new position of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Specialist at APW schools! Go Rebels!

A little bit about me…My name is Ms. O’Hagan, although most of my former students and staff refer to me as Ms. Hillary. I grew up in Onondaga County and attended Syracuse University for my Bachelors in Psychology. I then went on to receive a Dual Masters from Boston College, where I majored in School Counseling and Mental Health.

I’ve been a Counselor for over 12 years, three of those years working abroad in Europe and China! One of the best experiences of my life was hiking The Great Wall Of China!

For the past eight years, I have been working as the Lead Mental Health Counselor for a Middle School in South Carolina. Here, I provided individual, group, and family therapy to our students revolving around anger management, high-risk behavior, depression, anxiety and numerous other mental health concerns.

I am a family gal at heart and that is exactly what brought me back to the Upstate area! My husband and I have two children and two fur-babies! In our spare time, we enjoy travelling, hiking, and anything and everything SU.

I’m so excited to become part of the APW family! I can’t wait to get to know each and everyone one of you on a personal level.
